Our inspiration: Goethe's Theory of Colours
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's 1809 work “Colour circle to symbolise the life of the human spirit and soul” provides a holistic description and overview of his colour theory. Even two centuries after its first publication, his description of the essence of colour is still highly relevant. More specifically, his findings from many years of research on colour physiology and the effect of colours on humans still provide valuable insights for designers, graphic artists and interior architects today. Goethe himself valued the results of his investigations into colour more highly than his entire literary output.
